Hungarian-Flemish discussions on the Hungarain Diplomatic Academy
On 11 January 2022, H.E. Ambassador dr. Tamás Iván Kovács participated in a meeting between Orsolya Pacsay-Tomassich, State Secretary for the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy and the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme, and Julie Bynens, Secretary General of the Flemish Chancellery and Foreign Affairs Office. The aim of the meeting was to present the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy and to explore the possibilities for Hungarian-Flemish bilateral cooperation.
Ambassador's visit at the Budapest office of Belgian Resilux
On 10 January 2022, H.E. Ambassador dr. Iván Tamás Kovács visited the Budapest office of Resilux Central Europe Packaging Technology Ltd., a leading Belgian company in packaging technology. The meeting was attended by Peter De Cruyper, CEO of the Belgian company, Árpád Somlai, Managing Director of the Hungarian subsidiary and Dorottya Bősze, Economic and Trade Attaché.
Meeting of the Hungarian-Flemish Joint Committee
On 11 January 2022, the 11th meeting of the Hungarian-Flemish Joint Committee took place in Budapest, where József Magyar, Deputy State Secretary for the Development of European Relations and Julie Bynens, Secretary General of the Flemish Chancellery and Foreign Affairs Office signed the working programme for 2022-2024. The meeting was also attended by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Tamás Iván Kovács and Dorottya Bősze Economic and Trade Attaché.
Advent event at the Munkácsy Association in Luxembourg
The Munkácsy Association in Luxembourg hosted an Advent event and a Christmas market on 11th December.
3rd Bartók Symposium
The 3rd Bartók Symposium was organised in cooperation with the Liszt Institute Brussels ׀ Liszt Intézet Brüsszel, the Bartók Archives of Brussels and Budapest and the KBR - Royal Library of Belgium, between 14 and 16 December 2021. The three-day event featured 4 concerts and 6 lectures. In his closing speech, Ambassador Iván Tamás Kovács highlighted that the Bartók Symposium is a great precursor to the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belgium and Hungary, which will be celebrated in 2022, and an excellent example of cultural diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.
