Commemoration at the Embassy on the occasion of the 1956 Revolution and Freedom Fight

On the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the 1956 Revolution and Freedom Fight, a reception was held for the Hungarian community living in Belgium. The compatriots of the 1956 Revolution were welcomed by H.E. Mr. Tamás Iván Kovács, Ambassador of Hungary to Belgium and his spouse, Dr. Edit Szepessy, H.E. Mr. Bálint Ódor, Permanent Representative to the European Union, H.E. Mr. Zoltán Nagy, Permanent Representative on the North Atlantic Council and Colonel Gábor Erbán, Defense, Military and Air Attaché. The Hungarian folk music was performed by the Csereklye Band.

Candle marche and laying a wreath on 23 October

The Hungarian community living in Belgium marched with candles to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where H.E. Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács held a commemorative speech.

EU Heads of Mission lunch with the Prime Minister of Luxembourg

On 14 October, H.E. Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács attended an EU Heads of Mission lunch organised in Luxembourg within the framework of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event, that had as guest of honour H.E. Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister of Luxembourg, provided a great opportunity to discuss the war in Ukraine and review the state of the European economy, along with global challenges related to energy and inflation.

Hungarian-Belgian business forum on electromobility at the Embassy

On 19 October, the Embassy's Foreign Economic Office organised a Hungarian-Belgian business forum on electromobility and alternative drive systems. Amongst the Hungarian participants, ZalaZone, Majosz, the Hungarian Drone Coalition and the Hungarian Battery Association presented themselves to Belgian companies,research institutions and universities. The participants were welcomed by H.E. Ambassador dr. Tamás Iván Kovács and Dorottya Bősze, Commercial and Trade Attaché.
