Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács attended the lunch event offered by the Minister-President of the Flemish Government, Jan Jambon to the diplomatic corps of Brussels in celebration of the Day of the Flemish Community.
H.E. Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács inaugurated in Antwerp Mr. Ari Epstein as Flemish Honorary Consul of Hungary. Currently 237 honorary consular offices represent Hungary in 100 countries around the world. Mr. Ari Epstein will be active as Honorary Consul in the Region of Flanders.

H.E. Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács had the special honor of hosting the first V4 Ambassadors’ brunch at his residence with the highest legislative representatives of the people of Belgium, H.E. Éliane Tillieux, the President of the Chamber of Representatives and H.E. Stephanie D’Hose, the President of the Senate. He also provided his guests, including the V4 Ambassadors detailed information about the priorities and objectives of the Hungarian V4 Presidency.
The Cultural Service of our Embassy, the Hungarian Cultural Institute hosted a wonderful concert and a captivating exhibition opening marking the handover of the V4 Presidencies. Ambassador Támas Iván Kovács took over the Brussels Presidency of the group.
Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács met Mr. Guy Libot, the new Chief Executive Officer of K&H Bank at Budapest and wished him much success for his new position. The K&H Bank, a subsidiary of the Belgian KBC Group, is currently the third largest bank in Hungary.
During his official visit to Luxembourg, Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács had a discussion with Béatrice Kirsch, Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg. The topics discussed were the following: cooperation between the Hungarian Presidency of the V4 Group and the Benelux Union, centenary of the diplomatic relations between Hungary and Luxembourg in 2024, Spanish-Belgian-Hungarian EU Presidencies in 2023-24.
Each first Sunday of June is called Teachers' Day. This year, our Embassy once again expressed its appreciation and offered its hospitality to the Hungarian teachers in Belgium.
