Ambassador's meeting with the Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg

On 21 November, H.E. Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács had a meeting with Ms. Véronique Dockendorff, Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg. They discussed, among other things, current EU and NATO security policy matters, the centennial of diplomatic relations between Hungary and Luxembourg due in 2024, as well as preparations for the 2023-2024 Spanish-Belgian-Hungarian EU Presidency.

Meeting with the CEO of the real estate development company ATENOR

On 18 November , H.E. Ambassador dr. Tamás Iván Kovács hosted Mr. Stéphan Sonneville, CEO of the real estate development company ATENOR, for a working lunch at his residence. The topic of the meeting was ATENOR's current and future projects in Hungary. The meeting was attended by Dorottya Bősze, Head of Commercial Section and dr. Gabriella Nagy, Hungarian Community Diplomat.

Belgian-Hungarian business reception for transport and logistics companies

The Foreign Economic Office of the Embassy of Hungary in Brussels, in cooperation with the Flemish Investment and Trade Agency and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges Port Authority, organised a business reception for Hungarian and Belgian transport and logistics companies at the Honorary Consulate of Antwerp on 16 November. On the occasion, Ari Epstein, Honorary Consul of Hungary in Flanders, H.E. Ambassador dr. Tamás Iván Kovács and Dorottya Bősze, Head of the Commercial Section, welcomed the participants.

Ambassador's participation at the Armistice Day event in Ypres

On 10 November, H.E. Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács represented Hungary at the traditional Flemish Peace Institute lecture organised on the occasion of Armistice Day in Ypres. The event also provided a great opportunity to meet with Ms. Emmily Talpe, Mayor of Ypres, and Mr. Ward Kennes, Mayor of Kasterlee.

Presentation on the Beglian Hydrogen Strategy by the Belgian Minister of Energy

On 10 November, H.E. Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács attended an EU Heads of Mission event organised in Belgium within the framework of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Tinne Van der Straeten, Minister of Energy as the guest of honour of the event briefed the participants on the Hydrogen Strategy of Belgium, the current challenges and possible solutions to the energy crisis.

From the Aranybulla (Hungarian Magna Charta, 1222) to the European constitutional values - Conference

On 8 November, H.E. Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács attended a conference on National constitutional heritage and European integration, entitled From the Aranybulla (Hungarian Magna Charta, 1222) to the European constitutional values. This year Hungary celebrates the 800th anniversary of the Golden Bull (Aranybulla), one of its most emblematic constitutional regulations. To commemorate this, an international conference was held on the role and significance of constitutional heritage. The event was organised by the Brussels Office of the Foundation for a Civic Hungary together with Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary and the European Public Law Organization. Several MEPs participated in the conference and took part in the panel discussion, including László Trócsányi, Kinga Gál and François-Xavier Bellamy. The closing remarks were delivered by H.E. Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács.

1st Hungarian Folklore Day in Luxembourg

On 24 September, the 1st Hungarian Folklore Day was organised by Art&Culture Hungarica, a Luxembourg-based Hungarian association. The organizers showed Hungarian folk art and costumes through a beautiful exhibition, an interesting presentation as well as a professional folk dance performance. Visitors had the opportunity to buy Hungarian products and taste delicious Hungarian dishes cooked on the spot.
