Since 1957, it has been a well-established tradition in Brussels that each year, together with the Hungarian Community, we remember the heroes of the Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight of 1956. This year the commemoration took place in full compliance with the epidemiological measures and with the support of the Brussels Police. After the commemorative mass in the St Michael and St Gudula Cathedral, Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács delivered a commemorative speech and laid a wreath at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier with Ambassador Zoltán Nagy, Permanent Representative of Hungary to NATO and PSC Ambassador Bálint Ódor.

Visit of Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács to MP Theo Francken, one of the most known politicians of the N-VA and Belgium. During their meeting, they exchanged views mainly on migration matters.

They exchanged views on advances in the bilateral cooperation between Hungary and Belgium, including defence matters, the approaching centenary of our diplomatic relations and the developments in the federal government formation in Belgium.
Working lunch on the EU Summit with Jurek Kuczkiewicz, the strategic adviser for communication and media of the cabinet of the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. The event was organised by the Polish V4 Presidency. Ambassador Tamás Iván Kovács attended the lunch.

Talk about the special legal order and on the EU Summit.
Based on the decision of the Hungarian National Assembly the Hungarian Government has terminated the State of Emergency on 18th of June. As a result, from 18th of June Hungarian citizens, the citizens of the European Union and of Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland and Serbia can enter into the territory of Hungary without any restriction and quarantine requirement (not valid for citizens of the UK). The same applies for third country citizens, who are family members of the categories of citizens mentioned above.
