The President of Hungary Katalin Novák visited Belgium from 8 till 10 November in the run up to the Belgian and Hungarian EU Council Presidencies of 2024 . An audience with His Majesty King Philippe marked the historic relations between Belgium and Hungary as we celebrated the centennial anniversary of diplomatic relations last year. The talks with Prime Minister Alexander De Croo mainly focused on the priorities of the upcoming Belgian and Hungarian EU Council Presidencies including the rule of law, respect for minorities, energy security, increasing the EU’s competitiveness, ways to tackle demographic challenges, support to Ukraine, and EU enlargement
