On the same day the inauguration of the Memorial Point to the memory of the heroes of 1956 also took place. Keynote speeches were held by Dr. Bernard Tilleman, Dean of the KU Leuven Faculty of Law, H.E. Zoltán Nagy, Ambassador of Hungary to Belgium and Luxemburg and Mr. István Csonta, Director of Collegium Hungaricum. In the framework of the event, an artwork of the Hungarian artist, Pál Horváth was donated to the KU Leuven.
Conference on the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight
On the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight, the Embassy of Hungary in Belgium and KU Leuven organized a conference on the Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight of 1956 on the 14th of November 2016, in the College De Valk of KU Leuven.
